Total’s technological know-how is recognized worldwide and enables the Group to discover and produce from fields that are increasingly difficult to access and that present extremely complex technological challenges. It is in Pau, at the Jean Féger Scientific and Technical Center (CSTJF), that the full range of scientific expertise and research resources of Total's exploration and production operations are concentrated.
Over 2,000 people representing 20 different nationalities work at its facilities. In terms of sheer size and collective skills, the CSTJF is unprecedented in the oil and gas industry. The center provides ongoing support for E&P subsidiaries worldwide, while also setting its sights on conquering new international oil and gas frontiers.
Home to the full range of Total’s exploration and production expertise – oil exploration, discovery and appraisal of new fields, planning complex drilling strategies – the center welcomes and trains technicians and recruited engineers from partner national oil companies and representatives of host countries.
